Flint Hill defeats Sidwell Friends 13-9 to capture MAC Tournament Championship

The fourth-seeded Flint Hill baseball team completed a historic postseason run by defeating Sidwell Friends to capture the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAC) Tournament Championship. The victory marks the 7th MAC Tournament title in program history for the Huskies and their first since 2017, capping off an impressive 18-12 season.

Flint Hill reached the final after a thrilling 3-2 semifinal victory over top-seeded Maret. Their championship opponents, Sidwell Friends, advanced via an identical 3-2 semifinal win over Potomac, after Sidwell Friends, Maret, and Potomac all shared the MAC regular-season title.

In the championship game, the Huskies' offense was powered by junior standout Zach Rachinsky. Rachinsky, who led the team with a .407 batting average throughout the season, went 2-for-3 at the plate, scoring 2 runs, driving in 2 RBIs, and adding 5 stolen bases. Sophomore Jefferson Speakes contributed a home run and 3 RBIs to anchor the lineup.

On the mound, freshman starting pitcher Charlie Rotz pitched 4 2/3 innings to earn the championship win, keeping the Quakers' offense at bay before handing the ball to the bullpen.
