Sidwell Friends captures fifth consecutive MAC tournament title over St. Andrew’s
The Sidwell Friends boys' basketball team solidified its dynasty on Saturday, defeating St. Andrew's Episcopal 64–49 to claim a fifth straight Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAC) Tournament Championship. In a dominant defensive performance at home, the Quakers pulled away in the second half to secure the program's latest piece of silverware.
Junior forward Ian Condon was the catalyst for Sidwell Friends, delivering a game-high 24 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Condon's efficiency from beyond the arc (4-for-6) helped the Quakers break open a tight game in the third quarter, where they outscored the Lions 21–8.
St. Andrew's fought valiantly behind a balanced effort, but struggled to overcome Sidwell's interior presence and transition scoring. The Lions reached the final after a gritty upset over second-seeded Potomac in the semifinals, but they could not find an answer for the Quakers' depth.
Sidwell's Jalen Washington added 18 points and 5 assists, while Elijah Schneeberg contributed 11 points and 7 assists to help seal the victory. With this win, the Quakers further cement their status as the premier program in the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference.
