Potomac defeats St. Andrew's 2-0 to win the MAC soccer tournament

Top-seeded Potomac School claimed the 2024 Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAC) soccer tournament championship on Thursday with a 2-0 victory over #3 seed St. Andrew's. The Panthers, who defeated the defending tournament champion Sidwell Friends in the semifinals, completed an unbeaten season against conference rivals. Juniors Ege Kirgiz and Ben Scharf scored in the final, while senior defender Patrick Ritter and senior goalkeeper Wyatt Pence anchored Potomac's defense. The Panthers will now pursue their first state title as the #4 seed in the VISAA Division I tournament.
