Adriano Arioti sets 200 IM record at METROS
Georgetown Day senior swimmer Adriano Arioti earned the Frank Martin Award for Outstanding Performance with a record-setting swim in the 200-yard individual medley at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championships. Arioti, who also holds the 100-yard butterfly record set at the 2023 meet, shattered the previous 200-yard IM record by more than three seconds, finishing in 1 minute 43.58 seconds. Last year's Washington Post All-Met Swimmer of the Year, Arioti also won the 100-yard backstroke on Saturday.
The Metros performance caps a stellar career for Arioti, who graduates with the MAC Championships records in the 200-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly 100-yard backstroke, and was a member of the record-setting relay in the 200-yard medley relay.
